"THE" Hamptons' event for Summer 1999 will undoubtedly be "SIMPLY FRENCH", the 25th Anniversary Celebration for the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF). Chaired by Linda Wassong and her trusty companion Puccini, this benefit will put the fun and whimsy right into the fund raising arena.
Beginning with a Celebrity/Dog Fashion show featuring "canine couture" created by world renowned designers, this component of the event will be co-chaired and orchestrated by Stan Herman, President of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and Etta Froio, Sr., V.P., Editor & Associate Publisher of W Magazine. Kimora Lee, clothing/jewelry designer and wife of music impresario Russell Simmons, and her dog Zoe will lead the way for a bevy of other celebrities.
The Celebrity Chairperson Dr. Marc Lowenberg, (best known as "dentist to the stars"), will collaborate with the designated "Canine Choreographic" Chairperson, Bash Dibra "dog trainer to the stars", as dubbed by the New York Times and New York Magazine. Together they are coordinating the "two legged and four legged" celebrities, while Ralph Monaco, best known for placing the upscale In The Company Of Dogs catalogue on the map, will be organizing the accessories for people and their pets.
The tent will be decorated "Strictly French" with the committee being chaired by Anya Robertson, (former fashion model and wife of world renowned architect Jacquelin Robertson), in cooperation with Sony Schotland, previously a Seventh Avenue designer and original founder of ARF.
Dogs strutting the catwalk, celebrities, famous fashion designers, "canine couture", fabulous food and libations, all in a gorgeous setting among the gardens of the Woods Lane, East Hampton estate of Mary Ellen Kay, Sr. V.P. Prudential Securities. Truly the ingredients to whip up a most successful event recipe!
